Katie Worrell (kwrldesigns) is a 22 year old contemporary artist whose work sits at the intersection of hyperrealism and surrealism. Specialising in graphite, her pieces often feature iconic cultural figures rendered with photorealistic detail and layered with conceptual distortion. Whether through doubling, fragmentation, or unexpected composition, she aims to explore themes of identity, legacy, and the tension between public persona and private self.

Influenced by pop culture, art history, and psychological portraiture, Katie uses her technical ability not simply to replicate likenesses, but to reinterpret them, inviting viewers to reconsider the myths and perceptions surrounding celebrated figures.

A homage to art history and pop culture.

  • Once you reach out with your idea, I’ll ask for a few reference photos, review them and provide a quote. Once payment is received, I begin work on your piece.

  • Each piece is made with care, so timing depends on size and complexity. Typically, smaller works (A4) take around 5-7 days, while larger or highly detailed pieces will take a bit longer. If you have a special date in mind (like a birthday or anniversary), please let me know so I can plan accordingly.

  • Pricing varies based on size and the number of subjects. I’m happy to provide a detailed quote once I know what you’re looking for. Most clients choose an A3 portrait, which typically starts from around £200.

  • Good-quality photos are key - clear images with natural lighting work best. It helps if the subject’s eyes and features are visible. If you’d like multiple pets or people in one piece, you can send separate photos, and I can combine them into a single composition.

  • Some clients love seeing their piece come to life step by step, while others prefer the excitement of a full reveal at the end. When you book your commission, just let me know which you’d prefer. I’m happy to tailor the experience to your preference.

  • Yes! I can arrange professional framing and/or mounting at an additional cost if you’d like your piece ready to hang, just let me know before shipping. Each artwork is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely.
